Troop supporters,

I want to share the email below that I received from Betty Nash this morning.

Yes-address is still the same.  I am glad you sent a note.  Sam was able to come home for his daughter’s high school graduation so we saw him on Friday.

The first thing Sam said when he saw me was to comment about the packages he received for Easter and the difference they made in the life of his guys.  A little later he came over and started telling me how they had been having a really down day.  He said the packages arrived and he shared them.  The guys were passing the boxes around, reading the cards and enjoying the contents.  This lifted their spirits and his words brought me to tears.  A real compliment to DHSS staff is his comment about the contents.  He said the ones they received from DHSS were filled with things they could really use and like.  I told Sam and Tammy (his wife) about your efforts here at DHSS and about the care you take to get these packages mailed.

I attached a photo of Sam, wife Tammy (don’t know why she thought she needed to look smaller than she is – all 90 pounds), and his three children: Ashley, student at MU and in reserve; Lexi, high school graduate and plans for Military, and “little” Sam who is considering military.  I am so proud of our nieces and nephews.

Thanks for letting me go on and on George.  :)  Betty
