Subject: Thank you

Hi George. I wanted to tell you I received your package just before Easter. Sorry for the late response, but the internet has been inop for a while. Thank you so much to you and those involved. I put the decorations out and everyone I work with was so excited about it. The little candy packages and easter eggs full of candy were a nice touch for the celebration. I wasn’t really ever expecting to receive a package from you again, as I thought I would never be over here again and you wouldn’t have to send anything…. but I’m here again and making the most of it. Once again, you’ve outdone yourself and made being over here a whole lot easier! Thanks to you, Janice, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the OA-ITSD, life is good knowing there are those who do support us and wish us the best. I salute you! Hope to get home soon and thank you again!

Special Thanks to Fundraisers and Area Businesses That Helped Them.

I am always extremely grateful to each and every one of you who provide financial help to purchase and send things to our brave patriots.

Recently, in addition to individual and group contributions, our shipments to the Troops have received financial support from fundraising activities. These activities, envisioned by the creative thinking of our troop supporters and brought into reality though their hard work, have provided substantial financial assistance and need recognition.

Starting in September of 2010, Connie Williams and Cassie Lauberth have worked with Jamolee’s Donuts in Fulton to bring about “Breakfast for the Troops”, a feast of freshly baked muffins, fritters, and cinnamon rolls. Their efforts have brought in over $900 in three separate breakfasts and helped to fund 6 shipments!

Jamolee’s Donuts is a wonderful organization located at:

Jamolee’s Donuts
2600 N Bluff Street
Fulton, MO 65251

Please note, Connie Williams is currently in the last week of her Pampered Chef fund raiser visit: .

On April 20, 2011, people in the 912 building converted their snack day into “Central Perk and Pastries” and donated all proceeds, $120.72 to the troop fund. The EAC committee provided baked goods and Keurig coffee pots to brew flavored coffees & hot cocoa. Also, coffee was generously donated by Ann Westhusing of

Star Buck Coffee Co Inc.
3797 Hwy 54
Osage Beach, MO 65065

and muffins were donated by Kevin Schumacher of

Perkins Resturant
1722 Jefferson Street
Jefferson City, MO 65109

Without these fundraisers and the GENEROUS support of the above business, we would not have been able to do all that we have done for our troops. Please, whenever possible, return their generosity with your patronage.

George [and the group],

I just wanted to give you a final “Thank You!” for all that you have and
continue to do for all of us. I have returned safely from Afghanistan,
and have made it back home to Jefferson City for the Easter Weekend.
Please continue what you are doing as it really is greatly appreciated
by those troops who are forward. It was with all fortune that I was
able to return all of my guys safely as well, but each one of them had
received items that you had sent out and were grateful to have gotten
some cheer and support from home (although I was greedy and kept the
coffee! HA!).

Take care, God Bless and have a wonderful Easter Weekend,
Captain, USMC
