The State of Missouri’s Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) Collection for Central Missouri Honor Flights will end on Sunday August 9, 2009.
Our WWII veterans, now in their 80’s and 90’s are dying at a staggering rate of 1000 a day nationwide – about 20 / day in Missouri! Central Missouri Honor Flights are providing these great patriots with literally their last chance to see their war memorial.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2009, Barb Brueggmann, President of Central Missouri Honor Flights, will present a 20 minute discussion and video for DHSS employees in the Pine Conference Room, 930 Wildwood. I urge all DHSS employees to MARK THEIR CALENDARS AND ATTEND.

Awesome Turnout For Holiday Card Making
July 19, 2009 at 8:26 am | In Uncategorized by adminNo Comments
Approximately 50 people showed up at the HyVee Community Center yesterday to help make Holiday Greeting Cards for the Troops.
Each card is carefully designed, and work stations are set up with all of the materials needed.
The final product of these labors are beautifully hand crafted cards ! These cards are sent to Chaplains who distribute them to very appreciative troops to use when writing back home.
The Marine Corps League made an appearance and presented “From Our Hearts” with a generous donation!
In addition to the media coverage from Channels 8 and 13 (above), The News Tribune also made an appearance and interviewed Martie Shea, President and Founder of “From Our Hearts”.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The next card making event will be August 16, 2009 at the Missouri River Regional Library.
