Sullivan High School
1073 Vine Street.

Visitation is Friday from 4-8pm in the Performing Arts Building of the high school.
Funeral services are in the same location on Saturday 10:30 am.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Ricky L. Richardson of Franklin, Missouri graduated from Sullivan High School in 1994 where he excelled on the football team. He later attended Lindenwood University, playing football on an Athletic and Scholastic Scholarship. He entered the United States Marine Corps in April, 1996 after a year at Lindenwood and served as a machine gunner before becoming an explosive ordnance disposal technician, eventually reaching the rank of gunnery sergeant. He was appointed as a warrant officer in 2007 and had deployed to Afghanistan as an EOD officer in February, his sixth combat tour. He was fond of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Rick was family oriented. He was outgoing and could at times be a jokester. He was always the chief griller at family barbeques and never knew a stranger. His deployments included two tours of duty to Okinawa, one to Africa, one to Pakistan, three to Iraq and one tour to Afganistan. His personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Rick died at age 33 while supporting combat operations in Farah province, Afghanistan. Rick and his wife lived in Japan. Rick is the son of Angelia Robin Orick Hartung and Rick Richardson, Sr., who has served as Marine. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Richardson and maternal grandfather, Herb Orick and father-in-law Herman Payne. Surviving along with his wife Jennifer are: one son Cole; his father Rick Richardson, Sr. and wife Linda; his mother, Angelia Robin Hartung and husband Ernest; five sisters, Becky, Amanda, Miryha, Ashley and Carissa.
