The results are in!  Juliann Najar has won the People Magazine’s “All Stars Among Us” for the Cardinals!!!!  A win for JulieAnn is really a win for A Soldiers Wish List .   She is heading to the All Star Game and will be competing on the next level; Julieann will now be able to reach a larger audience for support.

Carol Biggerstaff spoke with JulieAnn this morning.  She was excited to find Matt Kuntz won for the Pirates Team.  Matt is helping wounded troops who have Traumic Brain Injury (TBI), something Julieann’s son has from his injuries in Iraq.

“Thank You” to all who help make JulieAnn #1.  Your votes counted and made a difference.

Show a WWII Veteran You Care.

June 19, 2009 at 11:50 am | In Uncategorized by admin

From Henry V – William Shakespeare

He that shall live this day, and see old age, will … strip his sleeve and show his scars, and say ‘These wounds I had on Crispian’s day.’  … we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother.

These words echoing from the 16th century proclaim a fundamental truth that how we honor and care for our veterans, says a lot about our character as a nation.  Any man or woman who served, fought and risked everything for us should NEVER be forgotten.  They should never be made to feel unwanted, unneeded, and living without purpose.

They are our sisters and our brothers and WE ARE THEIR KEEPERS!

I’ve told you all this because today I learned about a 90 year old WWII veteran who now finds himself all alone in the world and in his mind without any reason to go on.

This individual would very much like to receive letters and cards.  If you would like to correspond with him write a comment to this post saying so and I’ll get in touch with you.
