From KSDK in St Louis:

KSDK — The body of a Ladue native killed in Afghanistan will arrive at Dover Air Force Base Thursday.

Air Force First Lt. Roslyn Schulte and an Afghani civilian were killed Tuesday in a bomb attack just outside Kabul. Her family learned the news Wednesday morning. Bob Schulte declined to go on camera, but he did sit down to talk all about the girl he and so many loved and miss.

Those close to 25-year-old known as “Rozzie,” said she was into everything.

Schulte loved her family, sports, and serving her country in the United States Air Force. Schulte graduated from John Burroughs High School in 2002. In addition to being an exceptional student, Schulte was an All American Lacrosse Athlete.

Loved ones say with Schulte’s athletic abilities and numerous other talents, she could have been anything she wanted. Schulte chose to attend the Air Force Academy, graduating with top honors in 2006.

Schulte had been stationed in Kabul since Valentine’s Day. Her father said she chose to go to Afghanistan, working with local military officials in an intelligence capacity.

For now, Air Force leaders will only say Schulte was killed off-base for an assignment when her vehicle hit a roadside bomb.
