“Operation: Letters to a Peacekeeping Hero”

There is just one month left for “Operation: Letters to a Peacekeeping Hero” to meet its goal of collecting more than 5,100 undated letters of thanks by April 1, 2008. These letters are to be sent to Missouri National Guard and other citizen-soldiers deployed to the peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.

Schools, service organizations, youth groups, churches, families or individuals are encouraged to participate.

Send letters to Pat Rowe Kerr, State Veterans Ombudsman and Director of Operation Outreach, Missouri Veterans Commission, 205 Jefferson Street, 12th Floor, Jefferson City, Mo., 65101.

Marine from St. Charles Killed in Iraq Home for Burial

The body of Lance Cpl. Drew Weaver killed in action in Anbar province on Thursday 2/21/08 has been returned home for burial.

If you can, please show the family your support by lining the route and holding an American Flag.

The following details come from the Patriot Guard:

Finial Itinerary for Lcpl Drew Weaver
Thur. Feb 28th

Visitation from 2pm-8pm at Baue Funeral Home
We will have a flag line from 1-7pm

Friday 29th Feb.

Their will be a mass at 10:00am at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 2705 Zumbehl Rd,
with burial at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
Staging will be at Baue Funeral Home at 8am
KS up at 9am
